Photos
Digital Photographs are typical 2 Megabytes each, this is very big when trying to email. To reduce the size of the file , but to still keep the quality of the photograph suitable for the website, try using Microsoft's Image Reziser. This is free and quick to install. Click on Link below to go direct to Microsoft Download Area.
Once installed all you need to do is Right Click on any Photograph, select "Resize Picture", then choose Small (fits a 640 x 480 screen)
This will create a copy of the picture in the same location on your computer , but will add the word "small" into the title and you will see from the file size it will only be typically 30 kilobytes.
Attach this file to the email. You can attach several Pictures of this smaller form to your email.
Videos (Do NOT send Videos if you only have Dial-up Internet connect - It will kill it !)
Videos are generally to big to email anyway, but you can use something like Microsoft Windows Movie Maker, which comes free with XP or Nero or other utilities to edit you movies so you get just the best bits (Usually the winning throw!). With Movie Maker once you have edited you video down to the greatest through ever! (try and keep under 30 seconds duration), you can save as a Movie file (WMV). If in doubt , you can always put on a Memory Stick and give to us at the club on training nights.
Using the the "TJC Player" (Flash Player) you should be able
to watch all the videos on this site regardless of type
(Internet Explorer , Firefox , Google Chrome ... even Safari for Apple Macs!)
